Introduction to Jewelry tools - Tools that are needed and the
proper use of the tools used in the jewelry making industry, with
all the trade secrets. This is an introduction to the equipment
used in the making of Jewelry.

|
Wax carving and modeling - General explanation of the lost wax
method. Considerable time is spent on hand carving, wax pattern
building models and proper sprue methods. I will demonstrate how
to make rings, bracelets, necklaces and pendants.

|
|
|
Stone setting - Settings of bezel cups, four round prong,
marquise, triangle and pear stone settings in wax.
|
|
|
Investing proper techniques - Correct methods for measuring, mixing,
and de-bubblizing.
|
|
|
Casting - Putting the flask into a burn-out oven (kiln), and heated
until the wax melts out. Transferring the model into beautiful
precious metal.

|
|
Final finishing - Preparation for polishing, with Tripoli and
rouge, use of Ultrasonic machine.

|
Rubber mold making - After you have created your jewelry pieces, you
may want to make duplicates. Vulcanizing, cutting and injecting of
molds are taught.

Testing of metal - Learn how to use acid testing techniques for
separating the different karats of metal. |
